Introduction: Patriotism is a very noble virtue. It means love for one’s own country. It is an inborn quality. There is hardly anybody who does not love their country. The poet rightly says- “Breathe there the man with soul so dead, Who never to himself hath said, This is my own, my native land”.

Importance: Patriotism is, no doubt, a great virtue. It includes honesty, responsibility, and sacrifice. It makes a person conscious, dutiful, and active. It gives birth to humanity. It inspires a person to shed the last drop of blood for the sake of the country. A patriot: The person who has the quality of patriotism is called a patriot. He loves his country and countrymen more than his life. He is always ready to sacrifice his life to defend independence. He also serves the people. He stands by the affected people during the natural disasters. The people love and respect him from their hearts.

An unpatriotic person: The person without patriotism is unpatriotic. He is selfish. He is the enemy of the country. He never hesitates to plot against the country. He gets his return in the same way. During his life, he was never honored by anybody. Nobody remembers him even after his death.

Examples: There are many examples of patriotism. In 1971, the freedom fighters fought bravely against the Pakistani Army. Titumir and Tipu Sultan were defeated by the British. But their love for the motherland was very wonderful. Khudiram is also a good example of patriotism. On the other hand, Mirzafar was an unpatriotic man.

Narrow patriotism: True patriotism teaches to love and respect other countries as well. But narrow patriotism is dangerous. It creates misunderstanding among the countries. We should give up on it.

Conclusion: Homeland is sacred to us. According to the Hadith, patriotism is a part of our religious belief. At the time of our country’s danger, we should work for her. We should lay down our lives for her if need be. In fact, we should love our country selflessly.

Patriotism Composition for SSC, HSC

Introduction: Patriotism is a noble virtue. Patriotism is love of and devotion to one’s country. The word is derived from the Latin word for ‘father’, and it literally means love of the fatherland, or the land of one’s fathers. A true patriot is an unselfish lover of his country. His sincere desire is to serve its best interests in all ways possible to him.

The Power and Spirit of Patriotism: Love for one’s own country purifies the mind, removes the narrowness of heart, and helps one to be selflessly inspired. Man becomes immortal by loving his country, and his patriotism prepares him to face any odd challenge as fleeting and trivial. In 1971, the people of our motherland got spirited with patriotism and participated in the Liberation War without caring for their own lives.

Our patriotic heroes fought with robust patriotism and thwarted the organized assault of the stronger Pakistani forces. Titumir and Tipu Sultan were defeated by the British, but their love for the motherland is unparalleled. After the defeat. Titumir’s dead body was saluted by the English General. The valiant tale of patriotic Khudiram of the then Indian subcontinent was an example for the contemporary juvenile heroes, and till today, Khudiram’s hanging by the British is reviewed with applause through singing. The value of an individual’s life is duly assessed by the magnitude of his patriotism. The creed of politics is patriotism, but the selfish and ambitious role of today’s politicians is disappointing.

Examples and Expressions of Patriotism: Patriotism begets humanity. A sign of patriotism is implied in the sword of Isa Khan. Rabindranath and Nazrul Islam kept patriotism high in their writings and songs. Actually, everybody should perform their assigned duty and endeavor to contribute to the state’s welfare.

Conclusion: Homeland is a great asset to men. At the time of our country’s distress or danger, we should be ready to stand by her, to work for her, to lay down our lives for her, if need be. We should love our country because it is bred into our bones every day of our lives. The English poet Sir Walter Scott sang- “Breathes there the man, with soul so dead, Who never to himself hath said, This is my own, my native land!”
