Mukim: How’re you, Siplu? Where’re you coming from?
Siplu: I’m fine, Mukim. I come from the hospital. One of my cousins was admitted to the hospital for food poisoning.
Mukim: Oh! Nowadays, food adulteration has become a serious problem in our country.
Siplu: Yes. I found much information in the daily newspaper.
Mukim: By eating adulterated foods, people are suffering from many diseases of the heart, liver, lungs, and kidneys.
Siplu: All items of food, like fish, meats, vegetables, fruits, dry foods, are adulterated. How can we be free from it?
Mukim: You know, recently mobile court launched campaigns against food adulteration. Mobile court found unsafe levels of pesticides, especially formalin, in various food items. Poisonous element was also found in dry food and baby food.
Siplu: It’s a great initiative. But I think it is not enough. This operation is limited to the city area. It should be reached at the village level. The condition of the restaurant is horrible.
Mukim: I feel fear to eat at a restaurant. Mobile courts also operate in hotels and restaurants. The greedy restaurant owners adulterate the food for more profit.
Siplu: How could we stop food adulteration?
Mukim: Firstly, we should make ourselves conscious. The government should follow the strict rules of adulteration. People from all walks of life must come forward and help the government make this campaign a success.
Siplu: You’re right. I’ve to go.
Mukim: It’s a pleasure to discuss the important matter with you.
Siplu: Take care of yourself. Bye.
