Eve-teasing has become a familiar term nowadays in Bangladesh. Eve, the first woman, represents womenfolk, and teasing, means irritating. So, eve-teasing means irritating women to arouse sexual desire in someone. Those who tease women are called stalkers. Eve-teasing has been termed as sexual harassment.
So, different forms of stalking and sexual harassment are widely known as eve-teasing. Women, especially young girls, often fall victim to the stalkers. Stalkers lie in wait here and there and whenever they see girls’ they try to draw their attention with gestures and slang words. They follow them and even try to touch their body.
Boys tease girls because these boys are not properly socialized and are not taught manners and etiquette in their families. When parents lose control over the boys, they become stalkers and become reckless. To prevent this criminal activity the stalkers should be given exemplary punishment. Their guardians should also come forward to control these perverted youths.

Eve-teasing is a shocking experience for women. It can leave deep psychological scars which can be hard to heal. Eve-teasing has resulted in many unfortunate events in the lives of women. Delusional parents concerned about the safety and honor of their daughters can ruin their future.
Ironically, teasing has dangerous consequences for women and not for men as it can deprive them of their freedom, nutrition, and education. In the event of any incidence of Eve- teasing, the woman, the victim is always blamed. It is a matter of hope that the government has already taken some steps. The mobile court has already been formed. 13 June is declared as the Eve- teasing Protection Day. Eve- teasing is a curse for our girls or women. We must always remember that our moral duty is to fight against eve-teasing and stop it at any cost. Our government should take more effective steps to halt eve-teasing. All should come forward in this regard.
