A Clever Fox and A Foolish Crow Story – 1
There was a crow in a tree with a piece of meat in its beak. A hungry fox sat under the tree. The crow was foolish. The fox saw the crow sitting on the branch with a piece of meat. The clever fox wanted to have the piece of meat.
He devised a plan to carry out his evil design. He flattered the crow, saying that the crow was very beautiful to look at, its feathers were extremely glamorous, and its beak was very nice.
Further, the clever fox added that the beauty of the crow could not be described in words. The sweet words of the cunning fox pleased the crow very much, and it became overwhelmed with joy. However, the fox again said that the crow was dumb, which was unfortunate.
At this, the crow became a bit angry and, to prove the futility of its words, the crow opened its mouth to caw. Then and there, the piece of meat fell from its mouth, and the clever fox went away with the piece of meat.

A Clever Fox and A Foolish Crow Story – 2
Once, a crow snatched a piece of meat from a farmer’s child and flew to a tree. A fox was going under that tree. The fox saw the piece of meat in the beak of the crow. He felt tempted and wanted to have the piece of meat at any cost, but the crow was out of reach.
So the fox hit upon a plan. He wanted to flatter the crow and started praising it. He began to say, “You are very beautiful to look at. What a nice voice you have! You can sing so sweetly.”
But at first the crow did not want to sing. Then the fox said,” If you start singing, most of the animals of the forest will come to hear it.” He also said that the sweet words of the crow could not be described in words.
At this, the crow felt very much flattered and opened its mouth to sing a song. At once, the piece of meat fell from his mouth. The clever fox went away with the piece of meat. The crow remained sitting on the tree like a fool and went away saying, “Flattery is deceitful”.
