The Season I Like Most-1

Introduction: There are six seasons in Bangladesh. Among them, I like spring very much. After the end of winter, my favourite season, spring sets in. It comes with new life and enthusiasm. It is a season of dreams and desire, and so I like it most.

Comparison with other seasons: Summer is a hot and warm season. Sometimes scorching heat is felt in this season, and so this season is unbearable. The rainy season is a season of rain and floods. And this flood causes untold miseries to lives and liabilities. Autumn also assumes the characteristics of the rainy season. During late autumn, coldness is felt, and unbearable coldness can be felt in the winter season. But spring is the moderate season. Neither much cold nor much heat is felt in this season.

Season of leaves and flowers: Spring is indeed the season of leaves and flowers. During winter, almost all the leaves and flowers wither away. But during spring, trees are in new leaves and flowers. Nature assumes a beautiful shape, and people become romantic and imaginative.

Season of Song: Spring is the season of song. During this season, the singing birds sing songs and make the environment melodious. Besides, during this season, people feel like singing songs as the surroundings assume wonderful colour and shape.

Duration: My favourite season lasts for two Bangla months, Falgun and Chaitra. After the end of spring, the Bangla New Year begins.

Conclusion: Though my favourite season, spring, lasts for only two months, it stirs up my mind and mentality. It leaves an indelible print on my mind. And so I cannot forget its influence as well as attachment all year round.

The Season I Like Most-2

In Bangladesh, there appears a new season at an interval of every two months. Thus, in a year, we have six seasons in Bangladesh. They are the summer, the rainy season, the autumn, the late autumn, the winter, and the spring. In the cycle of seasons, the spring covers the months of Falgun and Chaitra. Of all the six seasons, I like the spring most. It is called ‘the king of seasons’. My favourite season is spring. The spring comes with ease and comfort. It has neither the damp and humidity of the rainy season, nor the sweltering heat of the summer, nor the biting cold of the winter. The sky is blue. The south-west wind blows.

With the coming of this season, nature herself puts on a gay and lovely look. The charming scenes of new leaves captivate the eyes. Various kinds of flowers bloom in abundance. They make beauties to see. Their fragrance changes the atmosphere. Butterflies move from flower to flower. Their variegated wings make a sight for the eye. Bees come in swarms to gather honey. Their humming music fills the air.

In fact, the spring is the season of music and melody. The cuckoo hides in bushes and coos. The ‘bou kotha kau’ draws the mind. Coming after the winter harvest, the spring brings for the farmers. During this season, people are generally free from want. Our poets are very fond of the spring. The infinite variety of its charms had made them fly ‘on the wings of poesy’. In fact, it makes everyone quite jolly and jovial.

Coming after the winter, the spring enchants the hearts of the people all at once. Though it consists of two months, its actual pleasure and spell last only for about three weeks in Falgun. So when the summer follows, people bewail its hasty departure.
