The name of our country is Bangladesh. It is a beautiful country in Southeast Asia. The Bay of Bengal lies to the south of the country. The other three sides are surrounded by India, but it shares a bit of the south-east border with Myanmar. Our country achieved independence in 1971. March 26 is Independence Day, and December 16 is the Victory Day of our country. It has a population of around 160 million, and among them, 95% of the people speak Bangla, and the rest speak other dialects. English is also used in private offices and for business communication. About 85% of the Bangladeshis are Muslims, and the rest are Hindus, Buddhists, and Christians. The people live in peace and communal harmony. Our country is an agricultural country. But there are some industries too. We want to see it as a developed country in the near future.

The name of my homeland is Bangladesh. It is a small South-Asian country. She is situated in the temperate zone of the world. She achieved her freedom at the cost of a sea of blood on the 16th December 1971 from the tyrannical rule of the Pakistani rulers. The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. In our country, there are different communities of people. They are the followers of different religions. The religions of the Muslims, the Hindus, the Christians, and the Buddhists are Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, and Buddhism, respectively. The people of various tribes live in our country in religious harmony.
Bangladesh is a land of different customs and festivals. A lot of festivals are observed here throughout the year. The Muslims observe Eid al-Fitr, Eid ul-Azha, Muharram, etc. The Hindus have many religious festivals like the Durga Puja, the Saraswati Puja, the Laxmi Puja, and the Kali Puja. The Christians observe Christmas Day, and the Buddhists observe the Buddha Purnima. Besides these religious festivals, there are some secular festivals like Pahela Baishakh, Independence Day, Victory Day, etc. Since Bangladesh is the darling child of nature, it has some attractive tourist spots.
