Paul Gottlieb Nipkow, a German scientist, first thought about sending a picture to a distant place. Then many scientists worked hard for quite a long period. At last, John Beyard, an English scientist, was able to invent modern television.

Uses of Television:
Television is very useful. It has made the world smaller. It has removed time and distance. It has brought about a great change in the world of information, education, and entertainment.

(i) Television is a modern means of communication. It serves much more than the radio. At present, people easily get the news and views from home and abroad through television.
