I live in a village. Its name is Barachapa. It is in Monohardi Upazila under the district of Narsingdi. It is two miles long and a mile wide. It is a small village. But it is very beautiful to look at. There are about 8000 people in our village. Most of them are Muslims, and some are Hindus. Many of them are farmers, some are businessmen, and some are service-holders. There are two high schools, two primary schools, a college, two madrasahs, and a small market in our village. A metalled road runs through the village. This road is connected to the highway. The people of this village go from one place to another easily. We like our village very much.

A district council road connects our village to Jhenidah town. There are telephone and telegraph offices at Jhenidah at a distance of only five miles. There is a large market on the bank of the canal. The daily market sits every day, and the ‘hat’ sits twice a week. The people of the surrounding villages come here every day in large numbers. The climate of this village is moderate. It is quite congenial to the health of the people. So most of the people living here are healthy.
